Will doubletwist support FLAC audio files in the future?
I would really like this feature as most of my music library has been converted into FLAC lossless.

Paul, just curious, but were you looking for this functionality for doubleTwist on a particular OS or all OS's?

I'd really like to see this as well. I have lots of apple lossless files I converted to flac and hope to get them all loaded into doubleTwist. I use windows.

What folks need to understand is that pretty much all mobile phones (DAC) digital to analog converters are junk so wanting lossless is kind of a moot point.
-

not to mention that most headphones, especially without an amp, can't generate a meaningful difference between lossless and non-lossless formats.
But... For folks who do want Android flac support - check out PowerAmp.- view 1 more comment

Paul,
Part of the issue here is that dT uses the underlying Google-provided media playback service, which older Android OS versions don't support FLAC. We were not allowing the desktop clients to send these (FLAC files) to the Android device given that they wouldn't play in dT or the stock player.
Later Android OS versions now support FLAC decoding so we can revisit our support for FLAC.
Thanks for your continued interest though and providing your feedback. We will revisit FLAC in our upcoming desktop app redesign, which is going to be a major overhaul.

Thanks for the response its great to know that the staff is listening.

But for those of us with part (or all) of our library in FLAC format, it would save us from having to convert them into a different format to be playable by DoubleTwist.
