Why wont my Samsung Galaxy Note go into usb mass storage mode?
Before I plug my device into my computer I enable USB Debugging through applications>development, then I connect my device to my computer. After that I open the notification center and touch "MTP connected" but then I am not prompted to enable usb mass storage mode with the android character, therefore DoubleTwist tells me "your android is in an unsupported usb mode." Can anyone help?

Hello,
The Samsung Galaxy Note does not support a mass storage mode.
For tablets, please use AirSync to sync.
Thanks,

Hello,
Another option is to use the "Auto USB drive" setting in doubleTwist Settings.
This will also force the Note into USB Mass Storage mode.
Thanks,

I see a number of recommendations, but no confirmed resolution. I also have Samsung Note and am using DoubleTwist for mac. It does not recognize my Samsung Note.
Any ideas? -

Hello,
What happens when you set "Auto USB drive" to "ON" and then connect it to your Mac?
Is your Mac not seeing the Note as a USB disk drive and mounting it as a volume?
Thanks,

When I follow the instructions for placing the Samsung Note i717 into Auto USB drive mode, it does not go into the mode. When I direct to connect to PC, the Samsung Note responds with "Attention - USB is connected. Remove the cable", then there is an OK button. Selecting OK only brings me back to the USB mass storage screen with the Connect storage to PC button. I am using an iMac for this connection.
Any help is greatly appreciated.- view 1 more comment

Hello,
This is using the "Auto USB drive" option in doubleTwist Settings?
We haven't had any reports of this not working on a device which supported USB Mass Storage mode so that's odd.
Here's Samsung help page on setting the Galaxy Note into USB Mass Storage mode.

Whoops. Sorry about all of the dups. The forum hiccuped and didn't show my replies there for about 15 minutes so I thought the system was eating the replies. -

I am syncing on my MacBook Pro. I am not using Auto USB drive though. Once I get to the "Connect Storage to PC" button I just click on that and then select the device in DoubleTwist and click on the sync button. It works fine like that. I normally use Air Sync but use USB when I am in a hurry.

Hello,

What version of Android are you using on the Note? Is it a stock carrier ROM or a custom ROM?
Have you tried another USB cable?
Here's the Samsung help page on setting the Galaxy Note to USB Mass Storage mode (though I believe it's only for Android 2.3):

Have you tried using the "Auto UBS drive" option in doubleTwist Player?
Thanks,
