Hi!
Just wanted to ask if a true two-way sync a la iPod is something to expect soon?
So far all different sync software I tried out there for Android and PC seemed to have same limitation. Changes made on Android side would not be sent back PC : Tag changes, rating changes, placing a file to a different playlist etc etc.
Tell me if I'm wrong but I do not see a point of having PC synced to Android, instead of Android synced to PC on daily basis - as for me, I do not carry my PC in my pocket all day long and do not play music on it throughout the day, but I do it on my Android, so obviously any changes, rating, retagging, new music purchasing happens on Android, and then, by the end of the day I would like to have it send back to PC, for back up, and casual listenting on my PC, but no the other way around.
Two way syncing is how things work on iPods/iPhones, but it seems as something to be desired for Android for the time being.
Thanks and hope I did not sound rude about it. I just hope to shed some light on this issue.

Hi,
if you are using the doubleTwist desktop software and the doubleTwist Android player together, then ratings/changes made in the Android player will be synced back to the desktop.

What about playlists tho? As far as I have seen playlists do not sync back to the pc.

Hi,
making playlist changes in the Android app is currently an experimental feature. You are correct that those changes currently do not sync back to the desktop. We are working on getting support for editing playlists on the fly.

Yes, media will be imported from the device. You can enable this by checking "Import new media" on the device sync screen.

USB between HTC Inspire 4G (Android 2.2) and Mac. Syncing of ratings and playcount either way don't work. This was from a clean install.

Hmm, it sounds like your database is being rebuilt on the android side. Is there any sort of error message when you run DT on android? What version of android player and desktop are you running?

No error. I installed on Mac. Then installed on phone. Then picked smart playlist and sync'd. Correct music files, no ratings.
I am not the only one with this issue. It appears that since the January release it broke sync. Can you verify this on your side and provide an estimated date when this will be fixed?-
Hi, I'm not aware of any issues with syncing breaking due to a recent release. Are these ratings showing up in the desktop version of doubleTwist? We are aware of some issues with iTunes playlist import and you might be experiencing that bug.
