Is there ever going to be a way to have podcasts sync with the mac desktop app?

I understand the idea behind having only the android app manage podcasts, but as for myself (and i'm sure i'm not alone) I'd like to be able to sync them with the desktop, because when I'm working on my computer I'd prefer to use my super awesome sound system to listen to podcasts rather than playing them through the sillly little phone.

I'd prefer to have them sync so that I can choose where to play the content. Seems a little silly to have podcasts be phone exclusive, especially since the whole point of podcasting is to let the listener play the content wherever and whenever they want.
