  Strongly agreed. I say we stick with Banshee (with apologies to Walter and Vīriešu) and as soon as that is implemented the code will in any case be available for hacking into other players. For the record I prefer a different player to any mentioned here, but it is good decorum IMO not to derail a conversation such as this with bickering over player preference.

Android is OpenSource (and people buy AirSync, like me), Linux is OpenSource and I think DoubleTwist owners lost money don't develop this version, like Dropbox and some other apps do.

Awesome idea. I am looking for an airsync between linux (ubuntu preferrably) and android. I also think that a plugin for banshee would probably be the best way to go. I'd be willing to pay and/or also to contribute LOC if needed.

Why not just make an AirSync daemon, that way media players can implement their own compatibility for it via API?
